1. Tequila Lemonade

Tequila on its own is a crowd-favorite for the summer. But Tequila Lemonade takes the drink to the next level. Pair flavorful Meyer lemons, sugar cane syrup, peppermint, and tequila for an irresistible drink ideal for sipping in the sun. If you’re hosting a crowd, try serving Tequila Lemonade with a casual taco bar and tres leches cake.

  • 2 cups of ice
  • 8 Meyer lemons
  • Dash of sugar cane syrup
  • 4 sprigs of peppermint
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 4 ounces tequila
  • Dash of soda water
  • 2 vanilla beans

Poor ice into a juice pitcher. Squeeze 8 lemons into the pitcher, followed by a few dashes of sugar cane syrup. Add the mint springs, chopped finely. Finally, pour in the tequila and stir. Garnish with lemon slices, then add vanilla beans into the glasses before pouring. Top with a splash of soda water.

2. Watermelon Vodka Cocktail

Nothing says summer like a watermelon the size of a basketball, and this warm-weather fruit really shines when paired with vodka. Take a vodka cocktail for a twist by adding cubes of watermelon and lime peel. Choose a clean vodka with a smooth mouthfeel for best results, then serve the drink alongside burgers and hot dogs at your next summer barbeque.

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • Lime peel
  • 4-5 cubes of watermelon, seedless
  • Seltzer water
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup
  • Crushed ice

Mix lime and watermelon in a cocktail shaker. Add the vodka and simple syrup. Finally, add ice and give it a shake. Strain into a glass and top with seltzer water. Garnish with more lime, or add cucumber, mint, or berries.

3. Blueberry-Ginger Mojitos

A mojito is another go-to summer alcoholic drink. The fresh mint and lime go well with any fresh fruits and veggies. It feels light, refreshing, and perfect for a day on the boat or at the lake. You can take your mojito up a notch by adding an unconventional mix of blueberries and ginger. Serve this original drink with seafood like fresh prawns or scallops. Add a green salad and fruit salad to the side, and you’re set for the night.

For the ginger syrup:

  • ¼ cup grated ginger
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

For the mojito:

  • 1 1/2 cups blueberries
  • 1 lime
  • 1 large bunch of mint
  • 4 ounces ginger simple syrup
  • 4 ounces vodka
  • 5 ounces club soda
  • Ice

Peel and grate ginger, then add it to a saucepan along with the sugar and water. Bring to a boil and make sure the sugar dissolves. Let sit for 15 minutes. Strain and cool in the fridge.

Put blueberries, lime wedges, and mint leaves in a glass pitcher. Mix together until the lime and mint are broken up to release flavor. Add the simple syrup, vodka, and club soda. Stir, then pour into glasses with ice cubes. Top with a garnish of blueberries and mint sprig.
